The device section allows you to take your targeting to a more granular level and is composed of six subsections.
The first part of this section is device types;
Device Types
Here you can select the devices you want your line item to deliver on – Personal Computer (desktop),
Tablet and Mobile. Simply click on the icon box to select / deselect these. Note if you run across all three on your line item ensure you monitor your delivery once you are live – you will find mobile phone is often highly prioritised when optimising to CTR so you may want to split this out.
Device Manufacturers, OS, Browsers
These are all ways to drill down again on the device types for your delivery.
Note: these are not generally recommended for use from the start of your delivery, unless you are running a mobile specific app download campaign for example. But they can be useful for excluding inventory that is not working for your line item once you start monitoring your delivery after launch.
Browser Language
Can be useful to test but relies on this being set as the language in a user’s browser settings. Reach may be tricky, depending on the other targeting you have set.
IP Addresses
This can be very useful for excluding your own company IP addresses from your activity so that you don’t get any wasted delivery – especially when running retargeting activity.
Note: IP’s need to be added in CIDR format (as IP ranges, a single IP ends with : /32
