In this section we will take you through the inventory section of your line item setup.

Channel

Here you can select whether you want this line item to deliver against Display or In-App Inventory (or both). Simply click on the icon box to select / deselect these. Note: Video is available inside the Video workflow, you will need to add a new line item to access this.

SSP

These are all the SSPs & Exchanges (sources of inventory) available to you. You can click the logos to select / deselect these. If you mouse roll over each logo you will see the Name of the supplier, in case you are unsure. Note: we recommend starting with all and removing underperforming suppliers as you monitor your campaign once it’s live.

For Video line items: You’ll find a slightly different mix of suppliers here which will include some video specific SSPs and Exchanges.

Category

Here you can select Contextual Categories (site or page content/context) you want to include and/or exclude from the inventory this line item delivers against. There are top level and subcategories available for inclusion and/or exclusion on your line item. Simply Drag and Drop your selections into the relevant boxes, or use the + button to include and the – button to exclude.

Note: these are based on the IAB categories and lots of publisher sites are tagged with more than one category as this can be applied at whole site, site section or page level. You will see all the crossovers of these in any category reporting you pull, so expect to see duplication in all your numbers here.

Category Blacklisting

Unfavourable categories are blacklisted as standard, but you can remove these blocks here for run of exchange delivery, or increase this to include anything that has not been categorised at all.

White Black lists

Here you can add either a site domain white or black list or an App Bundle white of black list. List entries can be added individually by typing into the box or via a csv upload. You can download a List Template from here too.

Note: You cannot set both site domain and app bundle - you will need and individual line item for each if this if required. Your toggle and the tile colour of your inputs indicate whether your list is black (excluded = grey) or white (included = green).

Note: You should try to ensure your whitelist is as extensive as possible to ensure you have enough inventory available / reach for your line item to deliver.

Skippable Video

Here you can select whether to include Skippable Video’s, Not Skippable or both.

Note: Your Completed views and VTR are likely to be higher by only selecting ‘Not Skippable’ but this is not necessarily the best test of user engagement with your campaign.

Blind Domains

You will see some inventory from different SSPs/exchanges that will not have been tagged with a domain name in your reporting – this is known as blind inventory. This doesn’t necessarily mean that it is of poor quality – some premium sites will hide or mask domain names so that users cannot see the CPM prices their inventory is being purchased at (especially if they are selling inventory direct at premium prices). You can see strong performance across blind inventory, but if you are sensitive to this you can use this option to exclude any blind inventory from your delivery.

Visibility

Above the Fold (ATF) and Below the Fold (BTF) indicate where a placement falls when a web page loads – In-view = ATF or underneath view =BTF.

Note: these are self-categorised by publishers so may not be 100% accurate or even present (in which case you can miss out on placements by selecting these) so we usually recommend monitoring these closely when testing or using in conjunction with a viewability partner.

This completes your inventory section, you can close this to see a summary of your chosen settings.
